Space Jam: A New Legacy on Saturday dropped the first trailer and it was packed with Looney Tunes fan favorites and, of course, LeBron James. Arriving 25 years after the first film, the Warner Bros. sequel will again feature an NBA superstar trying to help save the toon universe and rescue his son.
Living-legend Michael Jordan starred in the beloved original film. Fans assume he will pop in for a cameo in A New Legacy. The Space Jam installment marks the first theatrically released film to feature Looney Tunes characters since 2003’s Looney Tunes: Back in Action.
Space Jam: A New Legacy will also feature Zendaya as the voice of Lola Bunny, the official Twitter account for the film announced on Saturday. Sonequa Martin-Green and Don Cheadle star alongside her, among a slew of NBA and WNBA players. Fans of the first film have their fingers crossed for Bill Murray and Wayne Knight cameos.
The movie made headlines in March when it was learned that Pepé Le Pew had been scrubbed from the film. In addition to not appearing in the Space Jam sequel, Pepé Le Pew is not slated for any current or future Warner Bros. projects.
Space Jam: A New Legacy will be available on HBO Max for 31 days after theatrical release on July 16.
